![]() It is in a great, walkable location, literally across the street from the Zona Rosa, the gayborhood of CDMX. As Platinum Marriott Bonvoy members we were upgraded to a Corner Suite with a stunning view of Ángel de la Independencia on Reforma and received a wonderful welcome amenity of wine, cheese, fruits, etc. It has a bit of history, and certainly isn't the newest or shiniest hotel in the city, but it's location, personalized service, views, and the price more than make up for that. Quite a let down.We took an extended Memorial Day Weekend in 2019 to visit CDMX and stayed at the Sheraton. And as I write this review I'm still waiting for the manager on duty to come address my concerns. Meanwhile the machine used to create keys in the lounge is gathering dust. They weren't able to do it and wouldn't have someone bring one up. The lounge is meant to have dedicated check-in and check-out however when I asked to get a new key because I left mine in my room I got a confused response. It did not make for a great experience in an otherwise nice hotel. Apparently they have to 'close out' your non existent tab at 8:30 as well. I guess its a way to encourage or guilt you into tipping, but I was chased coming out of the lounge to fill one out the first night and then hounded to fill it out the second night. ![]() Another bizarre Club Lounge practice is that they chase you down with a bill for zero dollars. So it is a hassle to get a cup of tea for sure. Their tea must be super expensive as they keep it under lock and key, while the more expensive Nespresso pods are all out with the machine. White wine is left out and not chilled so it warms up which is not great. The red wine was actually colder than the white wine. Quality of the wines is well below average, when you have to refrigerate your red wine to make it taste good that is a bad sign. State service is that beverages are through 10 pm from 6 pm but those vanish at 8:30 and once second as well. I have no idea why I had to sign it, then when i asked for the lounge hours they tore the top of it off and gave it to me. They have you sign lounge paperwork at check-in, that's a first and an unusual inconvenience. When I asked for a bit of cake to go with my tea that was from the offering, the looked at me like I was crazy and said that was 'over', I managed to negotiate my way into a cookie of a tray that I could see in the back room. But the staff must get paid a bonus for clearing everything out at 8:30 and one second! I've never seen things disappear so fast. The food offering in the Club Lounge is pretty good, decent breakfast and snacks in the evening. ![]() Service for Elite members is a bit spotty. Would I stay here again, yes based on the price and the overall condition of the hotel is good.
